Check-out and Return Procedure
On their designated library days, kindergartners and first graders are allowed to check-out one book to borrow for one week. To aid students in taking care of their books and returning them on their library day, kindergarten students keep their library books in the classroom. First graders may take their books home. Second through fifth graders are allowed to check out two books a week. If their book is not returned, they will not be able to check-out another one until it is returned. Overdue and fine notices will be sent home twice a quarter.
Damaged or Lost Books
Books that are returned damaged will be repaired, if possible, and a fine of $5.00 will be charged to the student. If the book cannot be repaired, parents are responsible for paying the cost to replace the book. If a book is lost, the parent is responsible for paying the cost of replacing the book. Any student owing a fine will not be able to check out a book until the fine has been paid. Any unpaid fines will follow the student to the next grade and/or school.
