Embodying Summit’s Core Values: “I am a 12th grade senior whose roles not just in school but at home are to be a role model. I have 4 younger siblings and I've been taking care of them ever since I learned to take care of myself. Being the oldest takes responsibility and trust to look out for the others. This also connects with my role here at Summit being the oldest on campus and being an office intern is also being a role model and a Summit Dragon. Since attending K2 back in 2019 I built bonds with all my teachers and with the ones who still teach here I am still close with. My current mentor Jojo is my 5th mentor in my high school career and she has led me to be the K2 Dragon I am now.” Saul Torres (K2 Student- Self Nomination)
Oster Scholars’ CNS: Saul’s Concrete Next Step involves physical and mental work. He wants to continue school to get a contractor;s license and electrical engineering degree. He plans to attend a trade school or community college to later go to a contractor license school and get that done. While attending trade or community school he plan on working to help his parents pay off the school tuition and also help to move out. Once he gets his degrees in those divisions he will apply to work at big companies like PG&E and SDW Construction and find a role there to continue his journey of becoming an independent individual.
