Embodying Summit’s Core Values:
“Denisse truly became a leader in our mentor group this year and within our school community. She worked hard to design a mentor group sweatshirt and then planned and ran several fundraisers to make sure all students in the group could afford to have one. She brought similar energy and enthusiasm to her work with the student government. In these ways, she showed both compassion and responsibility. She has also worked extremely hard this year to push herself to never-before attained levels of academic success and showed amazing curiosity in her college application process...”

About the Oster Scholar:
My name is Denisse Saucedo, and I am a recent graduate from Summit Everest. I am a first-generation Latina with a strong desire to succeed. This fall, I will attend San Francisco State University. My declared major is Business Administration with a minor in marketing. My parents had me at 17 years old. That did not stop them from giving me a beautiful childhood filled with love, guidance, and confidence. It is because of them that I am stepping into this new territory, and because of them that I am embarking on this new journey, paving the way for my siblings. My goal is to take advantage of college (the classes, the internships, the networking) and develop a strategic business plan. I aspire to be my own boss, running a business.
