She organized and coordinated the First Annual Summit Shasta Black Film Festival and the Black Excellence Gala to highlight the academic and social justice of Black youth in San Francisco. Additionally, Alexis's involvement in a student-led campaign to raise awareness about mental health and wellness at her school showcases her compassion for others. Oster Scholars’ Concrete Next Step: Alexis' Concrete Next Step is to attend Howard University to pursue a degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. Her ultimate goal is to become an international human rights lawyer, advocating for marginalized and underrepresented communities. Despite facing significant challenges, Alexis has maintained a strong academic record and pursued her passion for social justice. Her involvement in community service and leadership roles demonstrate her commitment to giving back and making a positive impact. Additionally, her visit to Howard University and connection to an alumna and current students showcase her dedication to researching and choosing the best academic institution to achieve her goals.
