Dear Pre-K Parents/Guardians,
Please see below for NJ State’s immunization and District Policy 5320 requirements for Preschool attendance:
FLU VACCINE: All preschool children must get 1 dose of the flu vaccine between September 1 and December 31 of each year (N.J.A.C. 8:57-4.19).
The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. While flu vaccines are not 100% effective, it offers the best protection we have against this serious disease. For millions of people each year, the flu can bring a fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle aches and fatigue.
YOUR PRESCHOOL CHILD WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL ON or AFTER JANUARY 1st, IF WE DO NOT HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT THEY RECEIVED A FLU VACCINE.
Compliance is mandatory. In order to avoid exclusion from school, you are encouraged to have your child vaccinated as soon as possible. Once your child has received the influenza vaccine, please send in documentation of receipt so that we may update our health records. Thank you.
