The SCRTA understands the priorities of retired teachers. We keep a watchful eye on what is happening to our pensions (TCRS), our social security, and our cost of living adjustments (COLA). We want adequate funding for Tennessee public schools. We are very concerned about the impact private school vouchers are having on our school district’s budget.

How do we help?
1. We contact our legislators urging them to support public schools.
2. We keep alert for changes to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) and Social Security pensions.
3. We award an annual grant to a Sullivan County teacher.
4. We make an annual donation to the Sullivan County Family Involvement Center serving the needs of Sullivan County students and their families.
5. We offer scholarship funds to Sullivan County Schools' employees for licensure or added endorsements.
