Academic Intervention Services (AIS) are designed to help students achieve the learning standards in English Language Arts and Math. AIS supplements the general curriculum and addresses students' specific learning needs.
Students are eligible to receive Academic Intervention Services based on teacher recommendation, classroom performance, and their test scores on one or more of the following assessments:
New York State ELA/Math/Science exams
Classroom iReady assessments
Aimsweb Plus benchmarks
In most cases, students receive AIS in a small group setting with as few distractions as possible. Instruction is explicit and tasks are often broken into parts so students feel prepared and supported as they learn new concepts, strategies, and skills. Good attendance is vital to your child's education.
