What is AIS?
AIS stands for Academic Intervention Services. The program is designed to help support students in meeting the learning standards for both English Language Arts, and Mathematics. The program both supports the curriculum within the grade level, while also addressing students' specific learning needs.
Eligibility
Students are eligible to receive Academic Intervention Services based on teacher recommendation, classroom performance, and their test scores on one or more of the following assessments:
New York State ELA/Math/Science exams
Classroom iReady assessments
Aimsweb Plus benchmarks
Class Description:
Generally, students will receive AIS services in a small group setting. Students will practice and strengthen skills and concepts through explicit instruction, repeated exposure, and modeling, while also receiving strategies to take back and apply in the classroom.
Attendance:
As with all classes, attendance is an important part of success in school. Students will do best when they come to AIS class well-rested, prepared, and with a positive attitude!
