Policies and Procedures

Reglas (Rules) 

• NO PHONES OR INTERNET CAPABLE PERSONAL DEVICES ALLOWED. 

• Be a learner and be respectful.

• Students must maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards their teacher, their classmates, and themselves. 

• Students must arrive to class on time, prepared with their materials, and ready to learn. 

• Class participation is obligatory.

  • Participation is defined as being prepared with materials, engaging with verbal exercises, being on-task during group and individual activities, and asking relevant questions.

• CHEATING: 

  • The use of an online translator or AI for assignments, such as Google Translate or ChatGPT, is PROHIBITED. 

  • The copying of work from others is PROHIBITED.  

  • All work must be ORIGINAL! 

Consecuencias (Consequences) 

• Cheating will not be tolerated. An automatic zero will be given. 

• All violations of classroom and school rules will be handled according to the handbook. 

Calificaciones (Grades) 

• Each assignment will have a maximum number of points available. At the end of each quarter, I will divide the points you earned by the maximum points available to get your percentage score. (e.g. 180 points earned / 200 possible points = 0.9 = 90%)

• Homework will be assigned throughout the week. All assignments must be fully complete, and brought to class upon its due date. All work must be original. 

  • Any incomplete assignment will result in a zero. 

  • Any (suspected) use of an online translator or copied work will result in an automatic zero. 

• Late homework will not be accepted unless a students has an excused absence.

• Student name must be on all work in order to receive credit for the assignment. 

• Quizzes can happen at any time. If we’ve reviewed the material in class you may be quizzed on it. 

• Tests will always be announced at least 3 school days before they take place.

Trabajo Tardío (Late Work)

• Homework is graded on effort unless otherwise stated. It must be turned in on time for credit. 

• Projects will have a 5% penalty for each day they are late. 

¿Ausente? (Absent?)

• You have one extra day to turn in work each day of excused absence. 

• YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for figuring out what is missing. 

  • Check the Google Classroom 

  • Check with a classmate 

  • Email the teacher for work
