I want to take a minute to let you all know how incredibly hard it was for the team and I to create this cast. As you may not know, we had over 40 students come out and audition for the musical. This is why the team and I picked a musical that we knew had a big cast and many featured parts. We strive to make sure everyone has a chance to shine and many of these moments will develop in rehearsal, but we know we can't make 40+ students happy. Being in showbiz and theater; rejection and being upset is a big part of the job. I hope you talk to your parents and friends about it, and like in life, you don't always get what we want, but quitting is not the answer. Casting a show is like a puzzle and it is the job of the team to make sure all pieces fit just right to make the best possible show. If someone does not want to be a part of the musical due to the part they earned, it does upset me and the team as we really consider every student for the right fit to make the best possible performance! Looking forward to starting rehearsal in January and creating an amazing musical together.
