Astronaut Breath: 🌎Pretend to go into outer space so you can look back down to the earth. Since it’s very quiet in space, all you can hear is your breath. Astronaut Breath is done by keeping your teeth together as you breathe in and out through your mouth, making a swishing sound like ocean waves.

Its time for a birthday celebration, Let's light a candle! The yoga candle is an inverted (upside down) pose which calms the brain and stretches the shoulders and neck. We will learn 3 different variations of candle pose in this week's lesson.
March 17, Pose of the Week/Pose de Semana:
Half Wind Relieving Pose/ Interlace fingers and pull down one leg at a time. A calming stretch at the end of a yoga routine.

Pose of the week/postura de semana is TV watching pose, a healthy stretch for groin and spine*. Can you touch elbows to floor in this position? Everyone can try this pose, and you might already be doing it when you watch your Zoom!

February is the month of Love! Sunday, Feb. 14 is Valentine's Day. The colors pink, red, white and purple are everywhere and everyone goes overboard on chocolate and those little candy hearts with messages on them. We are going to learn the heart mudra, Sukhasana (Easy pose) and a new song about Yodeling!

GROUNDHOG DAY*
February 2nd is Groundhog Day, it is also celebrated as the midpoint between winter solstice and spring equinox, a time of celebrating the lengthening of days and the first signs of spring. This connection to light is our theme for today’s class. Think about the image of a groundhog coming out of the ground and looking for his shadow. Crawling back into the burrow in CHILD's POSE, the arrival of spring in TREE POSE.
