Virtual Activity List

With February break coming up, we thought it might be fun to send out a list of ideas to connect “virtually” with family and friends:

Host a virtual game night - games to consider include 20 questions, Battleship, Pictionary, charades, skribbl.io

Jackbox Games : these gamepacks cost money, but offer a variety of games for teens to play together on-line

Host a virtual dinner party - set up a table at your home, dress up and enjoy dinner together with friends over Google hangout or Zoom.

Virtual dessert night - bake or create a dessert in your own home and share the recipe.

Virtual Movie night - you can do this one of two ways. The first way would be to have someone stream the movie and then share the screen or watch on your own screen and start watching at the same time. Pop some popcorn, grab a blanket and you’re all set!

Even better, create a list of movies you want to watch together and set up repeated movie nights (think Star Wars, Harry Potter, Avengers, etc).

Virtual Sleepover - this is a great way to connect with friends and family and still get a good night of sleep. Plan dinner, movie, chat time and then log off before falling asleep.

Virtual book club - the break is a great time to read a book of your choice. See if you can get some friends together to read the same book

Virtually complete Mad Libs books with your friends or family — guaranteed to bring lots of laughs to your video call.

Create a Kahoot! Take turns creating your own and share virtually.

Virtually travel together - There are 32 National Parks to explore with a friend. You can explore on your own device or share your screen for a virtual adventure.

Virtually museum trips from around the world- Plan a museum trip with a friend or family member https://www.weareteachers.com/virtual-museum-tours/

The Museum of Science at Home has lots of interesting activities, sign up for some with a friend.

Virtual Baking Class - Sudbury Recreation Department has a cooking/baking class for February Vacation Week: Kids Kitchen! Cook and Bake Over February Break - for up to age 14

Check out a Teen/ Tween Event at the Goodnow Public Library.

They have a baking class, a Choose your Own Adventure Book Club and a Comic Club during vacation week.

Virtual New England Aquarium trip - Share your screen with a friend and take a virtual visit to the New England Aquarium.
