Classroom Expectations

Welcome to Agricultural Science! Our classes are designed to be hands-on, project-based, and career-focused. Students will spend much of their time applying what they learn through labs, shop activities, group projects, and real-world experiences. Active participation and a positive attitude are essential for success.

Classroom rules

Be respectful to everyone and all school property.
Come to class prepared and on time.
Participate in all classroom and laboratory activities.
Follow directions the first time they are given.
Use equipment, tools, and technology responsibly.
Clean up your workspace before leaving class.
Always put safety first.

ATTENDANCE and participation

Because this program is heavily based on labs and hands-on projects, daily attendance and participation are critical. Many activities cannot be fully recreated outside of class, so students are expected to be actively engaged each day.

employability skills

A portion of each student's daily participation grade is based on Employability Skills, which reflect the habits expected in today's workforce. Students earn points by demonstrating:

Safe Work Habits

These skills are evaluated regularly and are just as important as academic performance.

Students who come to class prepared, work hard, ask questions, and maintain a positive attitude will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills that will benefit them in school, future careers, and everyday life.
