As President Fitzsimmons announced in recent meetings with faculty and staff, we are collecting “BIG” ideas to advance the entire University and move it in exciting new directions.  As by-product of the initiatives supported by Go BIG Funds will be opportunities for professional development and advancement for faculty and staff.

 In keeping with the spirit of growth, we want to apply the same approach to individual employee development.  We want each of you to “Go BIG” too.  

Do you have an additional role you’d like to be involved in as part of your employment at SU, whether within your existing department or elsewhere on campus?   Do you see a different, more effective way for your department to be organized?  Is there a role on campus for which your strengths and abilities would be better suited?  Do you have a concept for a completely new position for yourself within SU that would add value for you and the University?  Is there a higher education role for which you would like to be trained/mentored so that when it becomes available, you would be a strong applicant?

 If so, please send an email to Gobigforme@su.edu  and the Director of HR Chris Grant will advance it forward for consideration.  We encourage you to copy your dean/director/supervisor or Vice President on the e-mail as well.

We will certainly not be able to fulfill all requests, and we will be able to move on some more quickly than others.  But as our institution grows, we would like to ensure that we do our best to create BIG opportunities not just for our students, but also for our faculty and staff.
