Swachhta Action Plan keeping in mind the Covid-19 pandemic, focused on post Covid 19 activities this year. The main objective of sanitation and hygiene unit during this crisis was to ensure the execution of post Covid 19 sanitation measures along with the regular sanitation and hygiene regime.

1. Post Covid 19 Measures, Aug 2021-till date, Daily fogging of campus was done, Sanitizers were installed at multiple areas in the campus, Temperature was monitored for all visitors, etc.
2. Webinar on “Beware but don’t be scared: Covid-19: Precautions we can take.” , 27 August 2020, Delivered by Dr. Sheetu Singh (Associate Professor, SMS Medical College and Hospital Jaipur) and Dr. Ashu Agarwal (Assistant Professor, SMS Medical College and Hospital Jaipur).
3. Two-day online workshop on “Life Skill: Yoga, Physical Fitness, Health and Hygiene”, 23-24 September 2020, Session on Self-Safety and Hygiene Practices in Covid 19.
4. Swachhta Pledge, 2 October 2020, Objective was to disseminate the message of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ among staff and students and make them understand the importance of the cleanliness and conservation of the natural resources.
5. Sanitary Napkin Donation Drive, 5 March 2021, Hygiene practices explained and sanitary napkins donated to young girls in Government Schools.

The primary objective of the Xavier’s Swachhta Action Plan-Waste Management Unit is to take care of the activities and actions required to create awareness about waste management among students and staff members of the College. The unit supports College Administration for the adoption of non-hazardous and eco-friendly methods and practices to be followed for the collection, segregation and disposal of waste as per the government guidelines.

National Webinar on "Recycling and Upcycling of E-Scrap" on International E-Waste Day, Session topic: "The Evolution of E-Waste Laws and Regulations", 14 October 2020, The invited speaker was Ms. Reena. N. Singh, Advocate, Supreme Court, India. The objective of the Webinar was to create awareness in the society and among the students, to make them realize the importance of "E-Waste as a Growing Concern in Today's Environment".
3. Inter Department Video/Powerpoint Presentations Making Competition on E-Waste Recycling Methods 14 October 2020, Objective: To bring out the innovative ideas of the youth through presentations and short videos that would help us recycle and reduce e-waste easily and more efficiently.

Encourage Adoption of Eco-friendly Methods and Practices in Campus

1. Paperless work – use of email, WhatsApp for communication, Objective- to reduce the generation of waste and optimized usage of natural resources.
2. Digitization of department magazines and Journals Publications , Objective- to reduce the generation of waste and optimized usage of natural resources.
3. Ban Plastic Flex use in Campus, Ensure zero littering, Objective - to reduce the generation of waste and to ensure optimized usage of resources.

The primary objective of the SAP Water Management unit is to drive college towards water management and develop eco-friendly practices, so that the students can become powerful proponents of environment conservation. The Water Management unit works on a meaningful route towards environmental protection.

Energy Management Unit is a part of Swchhta Action Plan of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It organizes awareness programs on energy conservation, lectures on civic responsibilities and different kinds of competitions for students. The roles and responsibilities of this unit includes- Audit of energy efficient heating, cooling, lighting and water systems in the campus, Audit of building wise monthly use of electricity, Incentivize reduced electricity usage by departments/buildings, Create short-term and long-term plan for the use of solar energy on the campus, Constructing check dams (if needed/feasible), Cycles on the campus (reducing carbon footprints) and Reducing carbon footprints via intelligent Purchase SoPs.

Cleanliness is not only about clean surroundings but also a clean and pollution free environment. Keeping this in mind, we at St. Xavier's promote the need of the hour for the society being sensitive towards saving ecology for a better, clean and safe environment in future and the same is imparted via plantation drives with students, alumni and local community thereby helping in building a safe, sustainable and clean environment.

1. “Paed, Ek Naya Dost” - Plantation Drive, 11-13 September 2020,The Department of English in collaboration with its social partner All About Happiness and Swachhta Action Plan Committee – Greenery Unit, organized, “Paed, Ek Naya Dost”, Plantation Drive - From Home With Us, from 11-13 September 2020. The event was a reflection of our social responsibility and initiative for a better Future.
