It is our aim to create an distraction free atmosphere that aids in the worship of others and to view this as our worship to God.
We want our worship to bless and edify the Church and we long to intentionally build a team environment of encouragement with the recognition that this begins with the individual attitudes, desires and motives that each of us chooses to bring to rehearsals, events, team meetings, etc. We want to be those who call out the gold in each other, who show grace to one another, and who are genuinely committed to each other growing and succeeding.
The production team is made up of 3 specific areas of skill but we work together as a team to make the service run smoothly.
Responsible for the sound desk, checking and adjusting volume levels for the band and congregation, operating mics during the service.
Responsible for the display screens, clicking through song lyrics and displaying information at the correct time.
Responsible for sound levels and cameras during the services which are streamed online.
More information about the different aspects of production can be found in our Production Team Role Description
In order for Sundays to run successfully there are few things that we expect from each team member.
1. We ask each team member to serve once every 4 weeks
We have teams A, B, C and D serving on rotation every 4 weeks throughout the year, with the exception of August and December. You will be placed into a team and this is who you will regularly serve with.
Should you be away or ill, please try to swap with someone in the wider team.
2. Attend rehearsals and arrive early on Sundays
Worship practice happens on Thursday evening - 7.30pm - and before the service on Sunday - from 8.15am. The rehearsals are a great opportunity to prepare yourself for serving during the service given you chance to see what is required and set everything up so it is ready to go. It is also a time when you can develop and practice your own skills.
3. Worship God through serving
Our service is not just about turning up and pushing buttons, knobs and faders; we worship through what we do and let God speak to us as we serve others. We are leaders, and in order to pour into other people, we choose to discipline ourselves to spend time with Jesus on a consistent basis. We practise “filling our tank” spiritually to have something to pour out to others.
You will also be asked to sign a team agreement which outlines what we can expect from each other during your time as a member of the production team.
Planning Centre is our online service for scheduling, service flow, times and other elements related to the service. Refer to Planning Centre in advance of the service you are serving at to listen to worship songs, see who you’re serving with, and to obtain any important information that may be relevant for that Sunday. It is also helpful if you can accept or decline and dates you have been assigned to accordingly.
We aim to continuously develop as individuals and as a team. There may be situations where you feel slightly out of your depth, and that’s okay! - this is a normal part of the learning process. The rest of the team is here and ready to support you while also allowing you to exercise the skills and abilities you develop as part of your training. You can find out more about this along with lots of useful resource on the Training and Support section of this handbook.
