As part of the recruitment process you will have completed the basic and foundation safeguarding training through the Church of England Training portal. All the information about this is on the recruitment process page of this handbook.
Following your chat with one of our lead volunteers, you will be offered the chance to train on one of the 3 streams of production - sound, visuals or broadcast. This involves shadowing one of our team members for a few months until you feel confident to run your chosen aspect of the service on your own. We have a WhatsApp chat group where we share updates or ask for help from other team members as we need it.
In addition to this we hold ad-hoc production trainings in the different areas to advance our team skills. These are usually delivered by our lead volunteers.
We have a number of how-to guides which you can read to help you with basic operating tasks on the sound desk.
We hold regular socials to help the team to get to know each other. Keep an eye out in the WhatsApp chat for these.
If you need further support then please do reach out to someone and we will be more than happy to meet for a coffee or arrange some additional training for you.
