 How it works

• Over the course of the evening, 7 films of real Horse races are shown on the big screen, each with 8 numbered Horses and 8 Jockeys. 

• On the night, in between each race, people go up to the Tote Stall and bet on the Horse they think will win in the next race, they can bet as many times as they like on as many horses as they like but each bet is £1.

• There are no odds given

• You will be given a coloured betting slip for each bet.

• Half the money that has been bet goes into the prize fund to be shared between those who bet on the winning horse, the other half is kept for the PTA.

• Once the race starts, the Tote counts how many bets have been placed across the race (by ticking on a sheet) and input into the Tote calculator Race Night Services Ltd :: Tote Calculator (racenightsoftware.co.uk).  

• Before the evening, for races 1-6, Horses can be purchased and named by people for £5 each. Jockeys are sold for £3 each. The person who owns the winning Horse for each race wins a cash prize donated by the Sponsor of that race.  The winning Jockey wins a small physical prize.

• Horses and Jockeys are available to buy on the PTA Events site, see below for the links to each race.

• The Horses in the last race of the night (race 7) will not be pre-sold but auctioned on the night.  The owner of the winning horse in the last race will win a bigger cash prize (perhaps a % of the total raised in the horse auction so for example if £150 is raised for the sale of the horses, £75 is the prize fund).

• The Horse owners and Jockeys are put onto the race card which is printed for the night so you can see what you are betting on.
