What a wonderful May we have had. Wednesday we had over 75 students, friends, and family members attend our last Marianist LIFE Night of Adoration, Praise, and Worship! It was a beautiful night! Thank you to all who came to Adore and praise Jesus! A special thank you to Senior LIFE Leaders for all their dedication, care, and commitment. Also, a special thank you to our Meal Ministry Team! Your generosity, food, and care have been a special and AMAZING part of our LIFE NIGHTS!

Today we also had the great blessing to honor our Blessed Mother with May Crowing. We crowned the three Mary statues located outside our building. It was beautiful!

Please pray for all of our students to have a safe and fun Prom Weekend and for all of our seniors as they participate in Baccalaureate and Graduation on Monday and Tuesday of next week! Let us ask our Blessed Mother to wrap her mantle of care and protection around our STVM family.

Service Hours Due

ALL SERVICE HOURS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MAY 19

A note from Mr. Larlham:

As a reminder, service hours were due May 1. At this point every effort should be made to contact supervisors if your hours are still pending. Additionally, students can still schedule, complete, and submit service hours as long as they are submitted by May 19. Keep in mind, they won't be approved until a supervisor verifies your service. Failure to do so will result in the student failing Christian Service for the year. Furthermore, students will be asked to complete the balance next school year. A second failure could result in dismissal from STVM. As always, reach out to me with any questions.

Senior Things

Does your family have a Catholic Priest or Deacon that will be attending Baccalaureate on May 19? If so, we would love to have them concelebrate the Mass. Please email me jgoshe@stvm.com with this information ASAP.
I am looking for Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior siblings of seniors to usher and altar serve at the Baccalaureate Mass on May 19 at St. Hilary at 6 p.m. Please reach out to me jgoshe@stvm.com to volunteer.

Donations needed for

El Salvador

The summer mission trip to El Salvador needs your help! Please review the donation list here for items that will help make our trip a success as we serve and love the beautiful people of El Salvador. As we plan our trip, you can be a part of it, by bringing in some of the attached items on the list through the end of May! Please prayerfully consider your contribution. God is going to use whatever you have to bless this mission and people with which we come in contact.

Donation items can be brought to Mr. Larlham in room 231 or office 234.

Support Emma

I would also like to ask everyone to continue to storm heaven to pray for Emma Bryant in her continued battle with cancer. After another major surgery, Emma and her family are truly in need of your love and support. If you are able to offer more than prayer support, you can click here.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion

Juniors interested in becoming Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion next year should click here for the application. New dates, including one at St. Francis de Sales in June, have been added. These applications are due to Mrs. Goshe jgoshe@stvm.com as soon as you complete them so that she may register you for the class.

Service Update

JUNIORS, SOPHOMORES, and FRESHMEN service hours are final on MAY 19!

SERVICE UPDATE from Mr. Larlham: Students have asked about how to log our service hours. Here is what students should do:

Log into MobileServe.com using your STVM/Google credentials. Freshmen have an email in their inbox from TeamMobileServe that will help them claim their account.
If it is your first time logging in (transfers and freshmen), the website will ask you for a School Code, but you can just "skip this" step.
Similarly, MobileServe wants your phone number as a way to verify your identity.
On the home screen, there is a big blue button that will lead you to a few questions about any service hours you do.
It is important that you provide an email address for whoever is supervising your service. Again, MobileServe will ask you for that as you log your service hours.

Lastly, we are making an important change to our service hour classification this year for Sophomores and Freshmen. All students are expected to complete 25 service hours this year. For Juniors and Seniors, you are still expected to complete at least 15 of those hours off campus at local non-profit organizations. Sophomores, you are expected to complete at least 10 hours off campus, and Freshmen are expected to complete at least five hours off campus.

Meal Ministry Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to the meal ministry this year for our Marianist LIFE meetings! The student have truly enjoyed this part of our gatherings and your support is so very appreciated. Be on the lookout for an invitation when meetings resume at the beginning of next school year. We always need volunteers to plan, set up/clean up and donate items for our meals. Everyone is welcome to get involved. Please email Barbara McKnight at mcknighteb@windstream.net to join next year's group, be put on the SignUp mailing list or if you have any questions.

MARIANIST MOMENT

Marianists believe that Mary is the perfect model of discipleship. She shows us how to love, trust, and follow Jesus better than any other human being. She also encourages us to "Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5

On May 1, we celebrated the Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker. Fr. Donald Calloway says, "Long before Calvary, when Jesus commanded all of his disciples to take Mary into their hearts and homes, St. Joseph had already taken Mary into his heart and into his home." You can learn more about St. Joseph by watching this video.

May is celebrated as the Month of Mary in the Catholic Church. Here are some resources about Mary.

It is important to understand why we, as Catholics, hold Mary in high esteem, call her our Mother, and ask for her intercession. This short video with Fr. Mike Schmitz gives a good introduction and explanation to help us to understand our relationship with Mary.

Students Should Download Hallow App and Login

We have been blessed with a donor who has made it possible for us to have the Hallow App for Schools. Hallow is the #1 Prayer App that is a great resource for strengthening the spiritual and mental health of the school community. All of our faculty, staff, and students have access to Hallow for the entire school year. It is a beautiful prayer tool with so many resources to use. Hallow is an incredible resource! Students should download the app today and follow these instructions below to log in.

Sodality Small Faith Sharing Groups

3 New Sodality groups have begun! We are looking to start a female freshman/sophomore group, a junior/senior male group, and a junior/senior female group. What do you think? Is this you? Please email Mrs. Goshe if this is you.

Campus Ministry is seeking students interested in forming small faith sharing groups. The groups will be single-sex groups of 5 to no more than 8. The groups will commit to meeting for one hour, once per week. A Catholic mentor from outside the STVM community will, after receiving both ministry training and VIRTUS (the Diocesan program, Protecting God's Children) training, journey in faith with the small group. Groups will do an initial study and then, working with their mentor, determine the next faith step activity.

Students interested in learning more or becoming a member of a Sodality Small Faith Sharing Group should complete this Google form. If any students or parents have any questions about this new endeavor, please email Mrs. Goshe.

Benedictine Come & See

2nd Saturday monthly, 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Saint Andrew Abbey, Cleveland

If you know any guys ages 20-45 who might be curious about Benedictine living and would like to discern a vocation to religious life, please share this with them! They are invited for a day in the life of a Benedictine monk, here in Cleveland. To sign up, contact the vocation director, Father Thomas Sanders, OSB, for further details at (216)-721-5300 Ext. 225. Lourdes in CLE: Teen Jubilee Pilgrimage

June 14, 3:30-7 p.m., Euclid

Bring your teens and join us during this Jubilee Year of Hope! The day starts at 3:30 pm with prayer at St. John of the Cross Parish, followed by a procession to Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine where we will celebrate the Vigil Mass with Fr. Damian Ference, Vicar for Evangelization. It ends with a gathering featuring burgers, hotdogs, and Jubilee Ice Cream. It’s a great chance for your teens to grow in faith and connect as the Young Church of Cleveland—don’t miss it!

We had a number of people requesting the audio for the talks at CLE 2:16, our diocesan youth conference which took place on January 4. We are excited to provide them for you! Eucharistic Revival

Returning from the National Eucharistic Congress, our Diocesan Delegates were brimming with hope and excitement. Their hope is to bring a little piece of the national Congress home to Cleveland in five “mini” congresses during the Lenten season. Mark your calendars and visit the website for more information to bring your teens and/or share with your families!

Campus Ministry Theme, Mission and Vision

THEME - NEW FOR 2024-25 - H.O.P.E. - which is an acronym for: Helping Others Pursue Eternity. This year, Campus Ministry is hoping to help our students not only pursue their own eternity, but also continue to learn how to share their faith to help others pursue eternity too. St. Padre Pio and his saying, "Pray, hope, and don't worry," will be used as we journey in faith through the year. The Jubilee Year of Hope begins with the Year of Prayer, and so, we will help others prepare for eternity as we learn and share how to grow in relationship with God through prayer. Here is a special Litany Prayer to pray each Monday for all our students.

MISSION - Teach, share, support, and live the Mission of St. Vincent- St. Mary and the Marianist Characteristics of Education with an emphasis on invitation and hospitality.

VISION - Every day, every person, every interaction, an encounter with Christ.
