This morning, we sent off Allie Hansen, Emerson Huber, Abby McCarron, Danny McKnight, Grace Van Oss, and Nick Zarembka for Marianist Summer LIFE (Living in Faith Experience) Retreat in Dayton. These six students will also be joined by Mrs. Faetanini as our LIFE Moderator. Please pray for all of them and the other Marianist high school students and moderators that will be there for a time of growing in faith, fellowship and leadership.
I had an incredible experience on the STVM mission trip to El Salvador. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet the amazing people of El Salvador and share the gospel with them. The trip had a very profound impact on me because it showed me what it is like to be the hands and feet of Jesus as well as what it means to love God by loving others. This trip was also a great way for me to get to know some of my classmates better and grow in my faith with them. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this trip for creating such a beautiful mission experience. I hope that I can return to El Salvador in the future and continue to serve others as Jesus would.
From Mrs. Goshe's Desk
Wow! Even though it is Summer there is so much happening here around STVM. Please continue to pray for the Flood Victims in Texas. Please also pray for our students who are attending the Marianist Summer LIFE (Living in Faith Experience) retreat until Wednesday and Mrs. Faetanini who generously volunteered to be the adult moderator. Please also take a moment to read Jude Rothkopf's brief reflection on his trip to El Salvador. I hope to have more reflections from more students to share in the upcoming weeks.

In His Sacred Heart,
Mrs. Goshe
Volunteers are needed for the The FEST, Sunday, August 3rd, but also the week leading up to it, where help is needed assembling snow fence, packing Mom's bags, setting up tables and chairs, and more.
The dates we need help setting up for the event are July 28th-August 2nd. On each day, Mass and meals will be provided. It's a very fun and easy way to get involved in the Diocese and grow closer to God and others.
If you would like to help and we can put a group together or your team or club would like to volunteer together, please email Mrs. Goshe ASAP.
July 19th, August 1st, and August 2nd are the days we need the most help, but help on any day during that week is appreciated. We also need help on the day of the FEST, August 3rd.
Here are links to several service locations in the Akron area to begin to serve:
Queen of Heaven Parish Labre Ministry (Green, OH)
I would also like to ask everyone to continue to storm heaven to pray for Emma Bryant in her continued battle with cancer. After another major surgery, Emma and her family are truly in need of your love and support. If you are able to offer more than prayer support, you can click here.
A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to the meal ministry this year for our Marianist LIFE meetings! The student have truly enjoyed this part of our gatherings and your support is so very appreciated. Be on the lookout for an invitation when meetings resume at the beginning of next school year. We always need volunteers to plan, set up/clean up and donate items for our meals. Everyone is welcome to get involved. Please email Barbara McKnight at mcknighteb@windstream.net to join next year's group, be put on the SignUp mailing list or if you have any questions.
MARIANIST MOMENT
Marianists believe that Mary is the perfect model of discipleship. She shows us how to love, trust, and follow Jesus better than any other human being. She also encourages us to "Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5
To learn more about the Marianist Family, please check out their latest Family magazine here.
It is important to understand why we, as Catholics, hold Mary in high esteem, call her our Mother, and ask for her intercession. This short video with Fr. Mike Schmitz gives a good introduction and explanation to help us to understand our relationship with Mary.
Here is a link to other resources about Mary, how to pray with Mary, Marian Feast days, and activities to celebrate Mary.
We invite and encourage you to download the Marianist App for lots of great resources and information.
This article will also help you get to know Blessed William Joseph Chaminade better.
