From Mrs. Goshe's Desk
Happy June! June is dedicated, in the Church, as the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As we contemplate Jesus' Sacred Heart, we can see his immense love and mercy for each one of us as he endured every suffering for each one of us and the whole world. You can click here to learn all about devotion to Jesus' Sacred Heart.
Please pray in a special way and unceasingly for all the students and Mr. Larlham and his family who are leaving this Saturday, to serve in El Salvador. They will be gone for about 2 weeks. We are so grateful for their hearts of care and service and are grateful to Mr. Larlham and his family for organizing this tremendous mission trip and taking great care of everyone while serving. Truly, they are taking living out the Marianist Charism to take Jesus to the world, like our model, Blessed Mother Mary. We look forward to hearing all about their experiences when they return.

Mrs. Goshe
Volunteers are needed for the The FEST, Sunday, August 3rd, but also the week leading up to it, where help is needed assembling snow fence, packing Mom's bags, setting up tables and chairs, and more.
The dates we need help setting up for the event are July 28th-August 2nd. On each day, Mass and meals will be provided. It's a very fun and easy way to get involved in the Diocese and grow closer to God and others.
If you would like to help and we can put a group together or your team or club would like to volunteer together, please email Mrs. Goshe ASAP.
July 19th, August 1st, and August 2nd are the days we need the most help, but help on any day during that week is appreciated. We also need help on the day of the FEST, August 3rd.
Here are links to several service locations in the Akron area to begin to serve:

I would also like to ask everyone to continue to storm heaven to pray for Emma Bryant in her continued battle with cancer. After another major surgery, Emma and her family are truly in need of your love and support. If you are able to offer more than prayer support, you can click here.
A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to the meal ministry this year for our Marianist LIFE meetings! The student have truly enjoyed this part of our gatherings and your support is so very appreciated. Be on the lookout for an invitation when meetings resume at the beginning of next school year. We always need volunteers to plan, set up/clean up and donate items for our meals. Everyone is welcome to get involved. Please email Barbara McKnight at mcknighteb@windstream.net to join next year's group, be put on the SignUp mailing list or if you have any questions.
MARIANIST MOMENT
Marianists believe that Mary is the perfect model of discipleship. She shows us how to love, trust, and follow Jesus better than any other human being. She also encourages us to "Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5
June is celebrated in the Catholic as devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We can only imagine how devoted the Blessed Mother was to Jesus' own heart and how her heart understood his heart.
Let us pray this pray to the Sacred Heart together this month:
O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions; give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.
It is important to understand why we, as Catholics, hold Mary in high esteem, call her our Mother, and ask for her intercession. This short video with Fr. Mike Schmitz gives a good introduction and explanation to help us to understand our relationship with Mary.
Here is a link to other resources about Mary, how to pray with Mary, Marian Feast days, and activities to celebrate Mary.
We invite and encourage you to download the Marianist App for lots of great resources and information.
This article will also help you get to know Blessed William Joseph Chaminade better.
