We are excited to welcome Maddie Cooper as our new Assistant to Campus Ministry! Maddie graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2023 and spent the following year serving in Cleveland with The Culture Project, a missionary organization dedicated to promoting human dignity and authentic love through Catholic teaching. Most recently, she lived in Columbus, where she worked as the Office and Events Coordinator for the Canal Winchester Chamber of Commerce. Maddie and her husband, Jack, were recently married and moved to Wadsworth, OH, this past March. Maddie is eager to return to working in ministry and begin this new chapter serving our school community through faith, fellowship, and service!

We are just days away from the first day of school. We hope to see our Freshman and their families at the Freshman Mass and Reception this Sunday, August 17. We will celebrate Mass together with the St. Vincent de Paul Community in their church at 8:30 am, and then enjoy fellowship and some food together at STVM in the Student Center following Mass.
Freshman will be enjoying a 1/2 day retreat lead by our Juniors, Seniors, with the help of our Ambassadors. The dress is an Irish top with appropriate and modest bottoms. Freshman will be learning the deep roots and beautiful fruits of being Irish and the privilege to be a part of our Catholic School in the Marianist Tradition. Please see the Homepage and emails reminders about both the August 17 Freshman Mass and Reception, and all Orientation Days (Aug. 18 - 20).
2025-26 School Year Theme: Verso l'alto! This means: "To the Heights" or "To the Top." This theme is based on the life and faith of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, who will be canonized with Blessed Carlo Acutis on September 7, 2025. Blessed Pier Giorgio was called by St. John Paul II, "The Man of the Beatitudes". You can click here to watch a great explanation of the Beatitudes. You can click here to learn more about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.
Let us ask our Blessed Mother to wrap her mantle of care and protection around our STVM family as we close our summer and begin a new school year. Please know of my unceasing prayers for each of you. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out at 330-253-9113 ext. 118 or jgoshe@stvm.com

GIFT CARD TREE
I also ask that you consider joining me to put together a gift card tree for Emma and her mom as Emma deals with challenging chemotherapy and many hospital stays this summer. They are up for any food places (except seafood places), and Giant Eagle is where they shop for groceries. If you would like to donate a gift card, please either mail attention Mrs. Goshe to the school or drop them off at the office in envelope marked Mrs. Goshe for Emma Bryant, during office hours Mon. - Thurs. (9:00am - 3:00pm). Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Jude's Reflection on Mission Trip
I had an incredible experience on the STVM mission trip to El Salvador. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet the amazing people of El Salvador and share the gospel with them. The trip had a very profound impact on me because it showed me what it is like to be the hands and feet of Jesus as well as what it means to love God by loving others. This trip was also a great way for me to get to know some of my classmates better and grow in my faith with them. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this trip for creating such a beautiful mission experience. I hope that I can return to El Salvador in the future and continue to serve others as Jesus would.
MARIANIST MOMENT
Marianists believe that Mary is the perfect model of discipleship. She shows us how to love, trust, and follow Jesus better than any other human being. She also encourages us to "Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5
To learn more about the Marianist Family, please check out their latest Family magazine here.
It is important to understand why we, as Catholics, hold Mary in high esteem, call her our Mother, and ask for her intercession. This short video with Fr. Mike Schmitz gives a good introduction and explanation to help us to understand our relationship with Mary.
Here is a link to other resources about Mary, how to pray with Mary, Marian Feast days, and activities to celebrate Mary.
We invite and encourage you to download the Marianist App for lots of great resources and information.
This article will also help you get to know Blessed William Joseph Chaminade better.
