Backstage and Tech
Tech Applications are due Friday, November 11th, 2022. Not all students may be able to participate in all department(s) they sign up for.
There will be a Tech Meeting Tuesday, November 15th from 3:30 - 4:15 pm in the SHS LGI Room. Anyone interested in participating in any Backstage or Tech Department must attend this meeting.

Student Directing: The Student Director will help run daily rehearsals by taking attendance, organizing order forms, running lines with performers, and giving notes to performers. During rehearsals and performances the student director will act as the stage manager. The student director is expected to be at rehearsals daily. This role will typically be given to an upperclassman.
Scenery: The Scenery department involves building, painting, and decorating the set. During rehearsals and performances the scenery department will move and change scenery and set pieces.
Props: The Prop department involves selecting, organizing, and creating props. During rehearsals and performances, the prop department will ensure the organization of props and that performers have the correct props for each scene.
Lighting/Sound: The Lighting and Sound department involves designing sound effects and lighting for each scene. During rehearsals and performances the light and sound department will be responsible for running the sound and light boards, including playing the music for each scene.
Hair/Makeup: The Hair and Makeup department involves organizing and designing hair and make-up for the performers in accordance with the style of the show. During rehearsals and performances, the hair and makeup department will advise on and/or assist with performers' hair and makeup styles.
Costumes: The Costuming department involves organizing, fitting, and altering costumes for the performers. Sewing is not a necessary skill to know for members of the costume department, but it is beneficial. During rehearsals and performances the costume department will preparing costumes for performances, assist performers with quick changes, and help with any costume malfunctions.
