Oct. 13- Indigenous Peoples' Day, no school

Oct. 15, 3:30-5:30 All Cape College Fair at Barnstable High School. Open to all high school students from acress the Cape. Over 100 colleges, universities and military institutionss from all over the world.

Oct. 22- PSATs for juniors

***Seniors: we are holding college application help at lunch in room 107. We will hold these college application help workshops every Wednesday until November 12. Please join us! See your school counselor with any questions.

PSATS for juniors

Junior families: Your student will be taking the PSAT on 10/21 (West) 10/22 (East). You must pay the $25 CAPS fee for them to be registered. You can pay this on our Sturgis website at the bottom of the home page, or by cash/check (made out to Sturgis) and given to your school counselor. Please reach out to the counseling office if you have questions.

Homecoming Dance, November 8

Students are invited to join us on November 8th, 2025, for the Sturgis Homecoming Dance at the Cape Cod Irish Village (35 Scudder Ave, Hyannis) from 7:00–10:00 PM, with check-in starting at 6:45 PM. Tickets are $15 and will be sold October 20–23 during the first half of lunch. A signed permission slip is required to purchase a ticket — click here to access the form. 

Seal of Biliteracy

The Multilingual Learner Department is pleased to announce that Sturgis will again be offering the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy! This is an award that recognizes high school graduates who attain high functional and academic levels of proficiency in English and another world language. Please see the letter that was sent to Sturgis families for more information on how 12th grade students can earn this award: linked here.

CMSC Driving School is offering a class at Sturgis East this fall. Use the QR code to sign up.

Annual Google Applications Permission

If your student is having trouble accessing Google Additional Services sites, it may be because parental consent has not been provided. Please use this form to grant consent.

Information about Google Additional Services:

As of March 15, 2025, per Google's decree, we implemented Google Workspace for Education's changes to student accounts regarding access to Google services outside of the Google Workspace for Education core services. This requires schools to obtain parental permission for any student under 18 to use each of these services.

Google Core Services (Gmail, Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides, Forms, Calendar, Sheets, etc.) are NOT affected. Students can continue using these services as they currently do. Google Additional Services (including YouTube, Translate*, Earth, and Photos) was disabled for student accounts on March 15, 2025. To reinstate these services, please complete the Google Additional Services Parental Consent form. Consent provided via this Google form will apply to the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.

Google provides information about the information it collects, as well as how it uses and discloses the information it collects from Google Workspace for Education accounts in its Google Workspace for Education Privacy Notice,

Senior Picture Instructions

Senior portraits and write-ups for the yearbook are due by 10/17/2025. If the Yearbook staff do not get a portrait the school photo will be used.

Please submit up to 3 photos of yourself/student for the senior pages:

- 1 formal, 1 casual, and 1 baby photo

- The senior portrait should be a minimum of 300 dpi, and vertically oriented.

- Files should be saved by the student’s name as follows:  senior picture lastname firstname.jpg

- Be sure to "tag" the photos
