Google Maps challenge activities:
1. Locate a significant MICHIGAN landmark and attempt to view it in Streetview.
2. Switch between Map view, Satellite view, and Google Earth view.
3. Open the "Maps Labs" (you have to be signed into your Google Account to do this) and activate the distance measuring tool. Then measure the distance between two places.
4. Open "My Places" and create a new map.
5. Add a placemark to your new map. Label your placemark and write a description.
6. Add a second placemark to your map. Include an hyperlink in your second placemark.
7. Add a third placemark to your map. Include an image in your third placemark.
8. Share your map with someone else through the Google Maps sharing tools. Invite someone to collaborate on your map.
9. Attach a screenshot of your map to the Google Classroom assignment.

Google Earth challenge activities:
1. Locate a "significant" landmark in Google Earth.
2. Switch between Earth view, Moon view, Sky view, and Mars view.
3. Open the Layers menu and activate or deactivate the borders and labels.
4. Open the Layers menu and activate or deactivate three layers that are of interest to you.
5. Open the "Earth Gallery" to find layers that you can add to your "Places."
6. Create a new placemark.
7. Add an image overlay.
8. Record a tour.
