Meet the Staff

Mrs. Paslay

My name is Nicole Paslay. I was born and raised in Fritch, Texas. I was an ATSSB Texas Clarinet All Stater my senior year of High School. I went to West Texas A&M University were I received my Bachelors degree in Music Education. While I was at WTAMU I was part of their Color Guard. I spend 5 years marching color guard with WTAMU. I have spent the last 11 years teaching everything from fourth and fifth grade music to sixth through twelfth grade band. I have worked for several different school districts including Highland Park ISD, Sunray ISD, and Dalhart ISD. While I was at Dalhart ISD I started the Golden Wolf Color Guard. I started the guard with 10 girls. It was opened to everyone on the campus, and the next year I had 18 girls. Each year it grew till last year (2018) I had 24 girls and 2 boys.

Mrs. Studer

Hi! my name is Jessica Studer. I have taught colorguard for 13 years and have won many titles and medals. I am a mother of two girls (Caleigh 20 and Lilly 18) and have been married for 22 years. I graduated from the university of North Texas. I started teaching Colorguard in the fall of 2002 when we opened a brand new school in Las Colinas and started the colorguard & winterguard programs from scratch. I was guard director there until we moved to Rider in 2006 and became guard director here. While I was here, we grew the program to field both a Varsity and JV winterguard. After the winter season in 2009, I decided to step away from guard after one of my seniors that year was tragically killed in a car accident. I have always loved guard and have never stopped being a fan. I'm excited to be back doing what I love after all this time.

Mr. Studer

Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas where he is responsible for overseeing the overall band and orchestra program which includes eleven different performing groups. This is Mr. Studer’s 22nd year of being a public school teacher in Texas. A 1997 graduate of the University of North Texas College of Music, Mr. Studer has had the privilege of teaching in the Lewisville ISD at Hedrick Middle School, the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD at Euless Junior High, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD as the Associate Director of Bands at Colleyville Heritage High School and in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD as the Director of Bands and founding director at Ranchview High School.

Along with these awards and competitions, Mr. Studer has been fortunate to have groups travel to many destinations including, San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Texas, Orlando, Washington D.C., Chicago, Boston, and London!

In addition to his normal teaching responsibilities, Mr. Studer feels that it is important to contribute to Rider High School. Currently he serves on the Site Based Decision Making Committee. He is on the WFISD District Advisory Committee and Advanced Academics Committee. Lastly he is the Chairman of The Happening, which is a large public outdoor festival, parade and fireworks show which promotes all things great about Rider High School during the week of their largest rivalry game. In the fall of 2010, the Rider Senior Class selected Mr. Studer as the Honorary Mr. Raider. This honor is given to one teacher a year and represents contributions to the school in the classroom, to campus, spirit and to the senior class.

The most important thing in Mr. Studer’s life is his family. Having met his wife, Jessica, while attending the University of North Texas, she has been a constant source of strength and encouragement for him. Together the Studer’s have two beautiful, smart and talented daughters, Caleigh (20) and Lilly (18). The family is happiest when they are all together (and dad is not doing “band stuff”) and they are at Disney World.
