I am Robbie, I am interested in cooking because it exposes me to many different foods that i may not have tried without this experience. The Theme i chose to do was Jewish Jawns. This theme revolves around the Jewish cultural foods; something i would really like to discover more. The Jewish heritage I'm part of is always something I've been interested in and being able to cook these foods that have been carried through generations gives me more of a connection to it.
As I've grown up, I have enjoyed eating foods from different places, and expanding my palate. With this experience with food, I also grew to enjoy cooking. Creating foods on my own not only gives me an experience but i also get to eat what i creating, which I enjoy doing. The Culinary aspect of this class can help me grow in my cooking skills and also learn how to make foods that are part of my religion.
The theme "Jewish Jawns" was an idea of mine that really encaptures the Jewish aspect of my theme as the whole spectrum of Jewish foods can be made. The word "Jawn" refers to a thing, place, or person, in this event, foods. Since my theme is basically, Jewish Foods, I have the option to go in any direction as long as it has a connection to the theme. This will widen my palate even more as i get to try foods outside of the Ashkenazi branch.
