Why is the Arctic Fox Important?

Arctic foxes are speculated to be endangered in 2 or 3 generations, this might be due to their fur being used for clothing. Arctic fox fur is considered to be one of the softest animal furs, which is why so many people kill arctic foxes to get their fur. These animals contribute a lot to the environment, by keeping the lemming population under control, and being food for polar bears and wolves. If arctic foxes were to be endangered, the lemming population would multiply rapidly, and would disrupt the food chain. If the arctic fox dies, lemmings would overpopulate, and polar bears and wolves wouldn’t survive as long either, because they would lose a vital part of their diets.

Why is the Arctic Important?

According to https://www.wwf.org.uk/, “The Arctic is crucial for lots of reasons. Not just because it’s home to the iconic polar bear, and four million people, but also because it helps keep our world’s climate in balance.” Greenhouse gases, such as fossil fuels, are causing a big problem. The arctic is such an important factor to this planet, and climate change is making a huge negative impact on it. If the arctic is destroyed, many animals won’t have a home, the world will have even more trouble maintaining its climate, and there would be one less region to help circulate the world’s water currents. Destroying the arctic, because of our use of greenhouse gases is incredibly unfortunate, and soon it’s going to take many animals away from their regions.
