"After my first year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, I transferred to NC State University and graduated with a BA in History and a certification to teach secondary social studies. I have been teaching in North Carolina since 1999 and have earned and renewed a National Board Certification in Social Studies/History. Although I have had experience instructing in three different districts, I currently teach in my own neighborhood in Raleigh at Broughton High School and am often seen biking to school."
