A TEDx event is a locally organized, community-driven version of a TED talk, where the "x" stands for "independently organized event." It's a way for local, passionate volunteers to bring the ideas worth spreading spirit to their own cities, schools, or workplaces, rather than just the big, exclusive, official TED conferences. At Broughton, president Eleni Kefala initiated the club into our school, allowing for students and teachers at our school to create and present their own takes to the theme in a TED talk format.
This year's main focus of each TED Talk given is: Threads of Time. Each speech given is revolved around what this theme captures in a way that is unique to the speaker's interests. We have everything from Quantum Mechanics and time travel to geopolitics and the YMCA's relation to the Russia-Ukraine war!
