Why is the Sumatra Important?

The Sumatra is now severely threatened because economic development coupled with corruption and illegal logging has made a huge impact. (McGill School of Computer science) Conservation areas have not been spared from destruction, either. The Sumatra isn’t just some forest though. “The island of Sumatra is the only place where tigers, rhinos, orangutans, and elephants live together in the wild.”( World Wildlife Fund ) Important species live here including the Sumtran (Sunda) Tiger.
