Threats and Effects

They are in danger!

What makes the Arctic special is the fact that it is very cold, and surprisingly, a lot of animals live there. According to the source World Wildlife, “The Arctic, including the Bering, Beaufort and Chukchi seas, now faces an uncertain future due to climate change, mining, shipping, oil and gas development, and overfishing.” Thats a lot, and if we continue to do this, the Arctic will be a goner. I am very sad about that, humans are already the biggest danger to Earth, and we will start killing species by species. If the Arctic goes bye-bye, lets see the consequences… First of all, all the animals, even in the Arctic ocean, that live in the Arctic, even the krill, get killed. Second of all, the North pole won’t be land anymore, and third of all, do you remember me mentioning about the humans that live in the Arctic? They we be gone, too. How would you feel if wherever you lived slowly disappears . You wouldn’t have anywhere to call home…

Scientists think that 22,000 to 31,000 Polar bears remain in the wild, and that’s with 95% certainty, or in easier words, correctness and accuracy. Polar bears are mainly threatened by global warming, leading to polar ice caps melting. But they also face oil exploration, which can cause reduced insulation by the fur, poisoning, and disturbance. They also face toxic pollution, which causes disturbance in biological functions like reproducing, growth, etc, and it causes lower survival rates in babies, as the female bear’s milk might be poisoned from the toxins. That’s very sad. If polar bears leave us, the arctic food chain will be disrupted, and all the species will die out, and we will lose a very famous animal. If you were poisoned, cold, and not growing, how would you feel? If you asked me, I would probably feel hopeless.
