From kindergarten to senior year in high school, Jemison attended public schooling in southern Chicago. Then, went to college in California attending Stanford University and majored in chemical engineering and African and African American studies. Finally, Jemison attended Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences in New York City earning a doctorate degree in medicine.
