Who is Mae C. Jemison?

  • Mae C. Jemison was the first African American woman to go to space.

  • After leaving NASA in '93, she founded the Jemison Group which encourages science, technology, and social change.

  • Majored at Stanford University for chemical engineering and African and African American studies.

  • Also went to Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences earning a doctorate degree in medicine.
