Project Overview
The mechanized arm project is meant to reinforce the core topics taught in Introduction to Mechanical Design. The course focuses on designing fourbar linkages to produce certain motions. Each linkage is slowly integrated to create a mechanized arm that raises and transports a small payload, driven only by three solenoids.
Phase 1
During this phase of the project, the team is modeling a small payload which the mechanized arm will pickup and carry to its destination. The intent behind the design is to provide a configuration which not only contributes a greater grip for the team's arm, but also other teams.
Phase 2
This phase requires the team to design a fourbar grasping mechanism that will attach to the mechanized arm to pickup the payload constructed in phase 1.
Phase 3
We will design a lifting mechanism that will be integrated with the previous phases. The lifting mechanism will raise the payload and grasping mechanism.
Phase 4
In the final phase we design a rotation mechanism that will move the lifting mechanism a specified angle from the original position.
