Be on time for your audition!
How our auditions work: There are 2 parts to the audition - singing and dancing. When you arrive, you will be put into a group and you will be auditioning with that group.
Room 1: Singing - Mr. Chamberlin will teach you a selection from the show. Your audition group will then perform the song, with each person getting the opportunitiy to sing alone so we can hear your voice. We are listening for vocal range, pitch, tone, and expressiveness.
Room 2: Dance - Mr. Simon will teach you a dance combination from the show with your group. Your group will then perform the dance combination for our directors.
When you begin your audition, please prepare a SLATE. A slate is where you introduce yourself, and tell us your grade, and something memorable about yourself. Your goal with your slate is to make an impression!
Call Backs, will be held on January 15, 2026 from 3:30-6:00 pm. Expect to do more singing at call backs, plus some reading from the script.
Rehearsals will typically be from 3:30-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please check the rehearsal schedule each week for updates. The rehearsal schedule is posted on the home page of this website, and copies are posted outside room 140.
Everyone is NOT called for each rehearsal. This is why it is crucial to check the rehearsal schedule weekly to see when you are called.
Actors and crew are responsible for knowing how to read the rehearsal schedule. Please do not ask Mrs. Ackerman if you have rehearsal. It is your responsibility to read the schedule.
Actors and crew need to be picked up on time from rehearsal.
This show will not be compatible with students going out for boys basketball or wrestling. Dancers and cheerleaders CAN join us, and we will work with you on game day performance conflicts. Track athletes can also participate, and we will work with your coaches to coordinate during the weeks where the two activities overlap.
