This course included projects, but as it was concurrent with STEM Biology, some reports can be found there.
For example, see the Nourish Action Project.
Additionally, here are some projects which did not include reports:
The Square is a small shopping center near San Marin High School. It is notable for being largely unpopular, in disrepair, and in need of an overhaul. For this project, we were tasked with creating a new design for The Square using Green Design principles. We began by researching examples of Green Design, then brainstormed ideas about what would be both most beneficial for the environment and most economically effective for a remodeling of The Square. The presentation below details our plans for the new Square, including 3D renderings (by me) of the engineering concept.
We were challenged with growing the tallest plant that we could given a specific type of lettuce seed. While we did not end up with the tallest plant, we did (unexpectedly) end up with the tallest growth — a 7cm tall fungus! Our process and data is described in the below slideshow.
Our group was tasked with creating an informational video discouraging littering. We created a humorous video describing a fictitious disease ("borophobia", which translates to "fear of cans") which afflicts those who are afraid to put their trash in a garbage can. If you're currently in need of a cure, see the video attached below.
