0. all students must Log into PADLET.com using the students gmail account. One member must create a new PADLET (canvas or wall format) and share it with the other members of the group. You will use the created PADLET to organize your research/brainstorm visually.
1. Discuss possible Project Ideas/clients/markets with your group (make a list of possibilities)
2. Research. What do you need to know about the field/fields of engineering you are interested in, in order to complete the capstone project? (.i.e. What scientific or Engineering concepts do you need to research in order to complete your project, what expertise do you need?, how can your mentor help?)
3. Research. What is already available in the market that is similar to your idea? What are the clients/societal needs that the existing items address? How can you improve it?
4. How much money will you need? How will you raise the money? What are your constraints? time, skills etc...(Check the capstone project outline for the timing)
5. Create a Detective Research Virtual poster on PADLET (use text, links to external sites, videos, sketches, images, maps, make connections!!) cite your sources within the padlet.
7. Identify Possible Problems to solve (be prepared to explain why you choose those problems using your research).
"I describe it, you draw-it" (class activity)
"Improve-it" exercise (group activity):
Imagine/think /make connections (individual)
Sketch ideas/lists (individual)
Criticism is ruled out (deferred judgement)
Freewheeling is welcomed (the wilder the better)
Quantity is wanted (longer lists increase the possibility of solutions)
Combination and improvement are sought (piggybacking on other ideas)
