Makerspace Cleaning protocol

Guidelines for Makerspace cleanup

  1. All clean-up will start 15-20 minutes BEFORE the period is over.
  2. Turn off the power supply to any machine you were using before you start cleaning.
  3. Remove all your tools from your area before you start cleaning.
  4. Store the tools in appropriate areas so you don't lose them or misplace. This will allow everyone the ability to find the proper tools quickly and without frustration and wasting time.
  5. Clean your work area by using a broom and dustpan first then a vacuum for smaller particulates. Be sure to dump out the dustpan into the trashcan.
  6. Report any damage, broken tools, or missing items to the teacher. This help to keep the room well supplied and operational.
  7. Plan to spend at least 15 minutes on general cleaning around the room. ALWAYS leave the machines and work area in better condition you found it!
  8. Failing to clean up will lead to loss of tools privileges, and reduced grade.
