The NBI Program

North Bay Innovation (NBI) Program is a learning community with a focus on Project-Based Learning and a truly personalized approach to learning. Students will master the content knowledge for college and the essential skills for career and life.

  • Students work with teacher mentors to develop a growth mindset, emotional intelligence, and self-directed learning skills.
  • Students plan their academic, college and career goals, mentored by a teacher who understands their aspirations.
  • Teachers provide a balanced approach of direct instruction, small group workshops, and individualized instruction using real-time data.
  • Teachers facilitate collaborative projects where students demonstrate their cognitive skills and mastery of content.
  • Students work through content and assessments at their own pace within a structured timeframe, facilitated by their teachers and mentors.

The NBI core curriculum (English, Math, History, and Science) is based on the proven success of the Summit Learning Platform.
