After a 20-year successful career as a toy designer, documentary film maker, engineer, entrepreneur, programmer and researcher, Glenn Corey decided to follow his life-long dream to become a teacher in 2009. In 2014, was named an Paul Allen Distinguished Educator in innovation and entrepreneurship. Glenn started his career after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked as an engineer at Motorola where he became head of research and development in plasma etching. Glenn worked in documentary film making and interactive multimedia. He has started a number of companies in educational software and toys. Glenn has taught AP physics, chemistry, math, programming, product design and Earth Science.

Katie Faircloth. Raised in Santa Rosa, CA, Katie attended St. Rose Elementary school and Santa Rosa High School. While in high school, Katie played high school soccer and basketball. She also participated in History Day and played the clarinet in the high school band. After high school, Katie chose to attend Simpson College in Indianola, IA, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. At Simpson, Katie participated in intercollegiate soccer, studied abroad in London, England, and spent summers staffing a residence camp in New Hampshire. Katie enjoys exploring different cultures by travelling in the US and abroad. After college, a love of science and children led Katie to return home to Sonoma County to pursue a teaching credential. Katie has taught science and math at the middle school and high school level as both a tutor and classroom teacher for 10 years. She is passionate about guiding her students to find answers to real world problems. Katie currently lives in Santa Rosa with her husband and three sons. When she’s not teaching, you can find Katie running, cooking, coaching, or exploring outside with her sons.

Danny Kambur is the Human Geography teacher at the NBI program at Novato High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in American history and Spanish language from the University of San Francisco in 2011, and his masters degree in education from the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. He has taught at Novato High since 2015, specializing in Human Geography and English Language Development. Danny has been a member of the NBI Design Team, and is very excited to begin teaching with the program in fall of 2017.

Suzi Shepard is an experienced math teacher with over twenty years of experience teaching math in Washington and California. She has created a number of innovative programs in the Spokane public school system including after school programs, teacher training and created curriculum for the Washington Education Association.
Christy Stocker is an Assistant Principal and lead administrator for NBI.
Christy went to the University of Washington to pursue a degree in the arts. Christy earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Visual Arts and the other in Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek). Christy worked in an administrative role at Nicasio School in West Marin from 2006-2016 where she managed all day-to-day operations of this single-school district while also teaching the middle school English program. In her role as teacher at Nicasio School, Christy quickly discovered a fondness for teaching English literature and developing thematic, project-based learning activities.

Michael Taber is veteran teacher with 14 years of experience teaching English. Michael completed his bachelors degree in English at CSU Chico and then earned his Single Subject teaching credential and Curriculum & Instruction MA at Chapman university. He has been a member of the Novato High School faculty since 2011, and has coached swimming, water polo, and both boys and girls golf.
