Technical Theatre 1

with Ms. McFadden

Description:

Technical theatre, also known as tech, is an after-school class. We run behind the scenes of productions, managing sound, lighting, props, and costumes. Our class this year was comprised of about 17 people, so we had to work hard due to lack of members, though we did have some volunteers.

Almost, Maine

The first production I took part in was called Almost, Maine, which took place October 2021. I was part of the marketing team, designed promotional fliers and hanging posters around town in local shop windows. I also helped out with costumes a little, planning what outfits the characters would wear. During the show itself, I helped bring props on and off stage, and change the set. Before the show and at intermission, I helped to sell refreshments to raise money for our program.

CLUE: On Stage!

CLUE! was the second production I took part in. We had around five months to work on it, starting in January, with the show being mid-May 2022. I designed the CLUE flyer, and was also on the costumes team. I helped at intermission like I did for the last show as well. CLUE! was a great production, and I personally think it was a lot more fun to run than Almost, Maine was. It had a bigger cast, and everyone was really fun to work with.
