Our group decided to choose soccer for our project because it was a sport we all knew.
Force of Impact: The force of impact is is the amount of force on an object for a certain amount of time. The equation is Ft = mv. Our force of impact was 562.4 Newtons.
Horizontal Velocity: Horizontal velocity is is the speed at which an object travels horizontally. The equation would be d/t. Our Horizontal velocity was 16.4 Meters per second.
Vertical Velocity: Vertical velocity is the speed of an object falling to the ground. The equation is (Gravity)(Time of fall). Our vertical velocity was 4.9 Meters per second
Total Velocity: Total velocity is the horizontal velocity and vertical velocity added using pythagorean theorem. To find total velocity we square both horizontal and vertical velocity then add them. Then we square root the sum. a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Our total velocity was 17.11 meters per second
Velocity before impact: The velocity before impact is how much velocity the person has before the impact. To find the Velocity before impact you divide the distance by the time. Our velocity before impact was 2.4 meters per second.
Conservation of momentum: The conservation of momentums means that the momentum before a collision must be equal to momentum after a collision.
Reflection
Our group was fairly well on task during the duration of the project. We could have worked together better on the calculations. Overall I think we did a good job on the project.
