Since 2020, many employees have been working from home. This alternative to the demanding 9-5, excluding commute, has been ideal to many, allowing them more time to spend at home. However, the trade-off is the increased time spent at a computer, making conditions such as “computer elbow” become more prevalent. This is usually due to overuse of the muscles in the forearm that aid in extending the arm or gripping an object. Microtears and inflammation can develop on the lateral epicondyle on the outside of the elbow. Another version of this where there is pain on the inside of the elbow is called golfer’s elbow. Those who experience these kinds of strain would most benefit from a massage that targets that specific area to continue to comfortably work online.
Fortunately, the WristRoller has reliable massage technology designed to relieve any tension the user may have. The two rotating wheels of massage balls apply soothing pressure all across the forearm. Adjusting the fit and tightness is easy and simple with the secure velcro straps. This enables the user to continue with their daily work activities without the distracting pain.
We are striving to meet a few goals through the creation of this project. Through the relationships we have developed with experts in several different scientific disciplines, we hope to make our product with sufficient oversight to prevent functional and conceptual errors. We have identified existing products similar to ours that we can modify to create a more convenient design for our consumers. The specifications of our idea include a more compact and visually appealing product than the existing models, a comfortable and wearable massager, and a device that provides a deep and satisfying relief of muscle tension.
