Description of Project:
In this project we were tasked with making five models of our Solar System. The first model was just the knowledge that we already had so some of the planets were out of order and nothing was to scale. Before this project I had no knowledge of space and I wasn't even sure of the order that our planets are in. We learned that we are gravitationally attracted to other universes that are many millions of light years away but the amount is so small we can just consider it zero. By the end of the project we were making more complex models of the solar system and making sure everything was to scale.
This is our presentation that we made for our 4th model. In this model we were asked to create a slideshow to prove a phenomenon. Our phenomenon is the farther that you get away from the sun, the longer the orbital period gets. We created a graph to show the orbital period related to the distance from the sun. The equation that we found is .201x^1 (x = distance from sun). The end result of the equation is how many days the orbital period would be.
Reflection:
Some things that I did this project that I did well was collaborating with my team and communication. I did well on collaboration because my teammate and I had pretty much the same workload the whole project and we got everything done in good timing. I did well on communication because my teammate and I worked well together and we were able to talk about the stuff that needed to be done first and the other things that could wait longer. One thing that I could improve on is leadership because in this project there was only two of us and we really didn't need a leader because we could both work the same amount. One more thing that I could improve on in the next project is critical thinking because I didn't have to think very critically about anything this project.
