A family photo taken at a summer rental home in Connecticut, Sam is pictured in the top left.
Sam Fieldman was an admirable man who left behind a lasting legacy. As a Socialist and a Jew, he was honest, fair, and entrepreneurial, and he was happy to hire immigrants and provide them with job opportunities. He was a humble man who did not flaunt his wealth and was always kind and fair to others. Sam was also multilingual, speaking and reading Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish, and English. He had a strong sense of family and loved his loved ones unconditionally. He was very proud of his family and worked hard to provide them with a good life. According to my grandmother, Sam considered himself an optimist and "had a nice laugh and was a good hugger" and described him as a "good and generous man".
