Samuel Fieldman, known affectionately as "Sam", was my great grandfather. He emigrated from Russia to the United States in search of new opportunities and to escape the Jewish pogroms that were occurring at the time. If it were not for Sam's move to Massachusetts and his role in bringing my grandmother into the world, my mother would not have been born and I would not be here today. Although I never had the chance to meet Sam, I believe he was a good, honest, and fair man and I am proud to have him as part of my ancestry. I am excited to share his story with you.
