Estela Burgos

Background

Estela Burgos is a family friend from my grandma's hometown Rancheulo, Cuba. Like many others, she was forced to leave Cuba in the 60s, fleeing from Castro and his communist party. Unlike many of her fellow Cubans, she ended up in Boston, trying to find better job opportunities. She quickly fell in love with the city and 61 years later she still lives in her Brighton apartment right on Commonwealth Ave.
