Mijax Bakery
Marta's father and mother own the "Mijax" bakery in Maków, Poland. This bakery has been owned by generations of Marta's family. Marta's family name is "Bania". Marta's great grandfather, Franciszek Bania, started the bakery in 1921. Currently, Marta's parents, Henryk and Alicia own the bakery.
Frenciszek Bania, the grandfather of the current owner, Henryk, opened the first bakery in Maków Podhalański. After his death, he passed the business on to the hands of Henryk's father. The image on the left is of Henryk and Alicia, the current owners in the year 2000.
After several years of baking cooperatives, Henryk went to the United States where he perfected his skills in local bakeries. After returning to Poland in 1990, he reactivated his company and in the following years he modernized and equipped in with modern devices. This allowed for the production of a wide range of bakery and confectionery products based on traditional recipes.
"A good recipe and ingredients are one thing, and a heart and enthusiasm are another. Only after combining these ingredients can you get delicious products" (a principle the owners adhere to).
