By Jason Silver (nephew), as told by Liviu Chimberg (Uncle)
Liviu Chimberg was born in Romania in 1954. He left Romania in 1962 and stopped in many countries before he reached the United States. Upon arrival in the United States, he lived in Queens, New York where his family became friends with fellow Romanian immigrants. Eventually, he moved to Massachusetts where he currently resides. He fell in love with Boston and he happily mentions in the interview that "I'm a real Boston guy, I'm a real Massachusetts person."
Mititei is a very popular Romanian dish
Liviu lived in Romania until he was about 8 years old. He spent about a year moving around a lot before he settled in the United States. He now loves to travel and feels very patriotic as he visits different countries. He thinks of himself as "a typical American in some ways, but I'm not typically American in many other ways." Romania is still very important to Liviu, but he loves America and is very grateful to America for taking his family in. When talking about his Romanian identity, Liviu talked about how if he were to answer the infamous desert island question, it would be difficult for him to decide to bring an American loved dish like pizza or a Romanian dish like mititei.
